The Work
About the work
Artist TSG
You can leave a place and still find it in the way you cook, the stories you tell your children, or the route your thoughts take when you are tired. HOMEWARD gathers a face, a river, roots, people and animals into one richly layered journey. Its many passages recall the experience of building a new life while keeping an older one alive inside you. The canoe offers a quiet point of movement through that abundance. This is a story for anyone who has learned that going forward does not require forgetting where they began.
