The Work
About the work
Artist TSG
She has been described as too quiet, too ambitious, too emotional, or too much. BECOMING gathers those conflicting judgements into an explosion of colour around a face that no longer needs to answer them. The splashes suggest the thoughts, disappointments and discoveries through which a person grows into themselves. Her expression remains composed while the space around her expands. This is a story about the confidence that develops slowly: choosing your clothes without apology, speaking in your own voice, and recognising that your complexity is something you can live with proudly.
